What To Expect
Visiting any church for the first time can be an intimidating experience. We invite you to experience a friendly welcome and a place where you will feel at home. Our worship services bring inspiring music, informative preaching and an atmosphere where you can experience the presence and power of God. Greeters are located at every entrance and will be happy to help you and your family through the church and direct you to Sunday school classes or our worship service. Help is always available at our Welcome Center!
Worship Service
A typical worship service includes a traditional blend of congregational and special singing, clear and challenging Bible preaching, and is concluded with an invitation to pray or make a personal decision to follow Christ as Savior or to walk more closely with Him. In addition, on Sunday evenings our service includes a special prayer time when we commit to pray for another person throughout the coming week. Teenagers may sit in the pews with their parents, but are encouraged to sit with their peers in our "teen section" which is to the right as you walk in the sanctuary. We encourage children to attend Children's Church during the 10:30 hour in our Fellowship Hall where they will learn at a level just for them by hearing God's Word, enjoy a time of singing, and enjoy the fun of our puppet ministry.
Sunday School
Bible teaching is the main emphasis in all of our classes. If you are considering joining Friendship, we recommend you visit several different Sunday school classes to find one that fills your spiritual needs best. We offer several adult classes, all taught by excellent teachers. Teen classes are grouped by grade: Pathfinders (grade 6), Navigators (grades 7-8), and Trailblazers (grades 9-12). Classes for elementary age children are by grade level and offer fun and friendly Bible-centered classes. Our nursery divides children by age, where the 2-3 year old children are provided with age-appropriate lessons and a time of singing with our favorite puppet, Bruno.
Wednesday Evening
From September through May we have a teaching venue entitled "Walk Through the Word" which is a systematic Bible study. From June through August we offer Christian Life University (CLU). CLU generally consists of two 4- or 5-week semesters of classes that focus on a variety of subjects. You choose a class that is of interest to you. These classes are held in rooms throughout the church. Teenagers will rotate between Walk Through the Word, CLU classes, and Students With A Target (read more about this on the Teen page). Children will attend Awana during the regular school year, and then are offered their own version of CLU called Christian Kid University with classes geared just for them.
